Cherry Blossom Festival Southern CAはダウンタウンLAのLittle Tokyoで行われる入場料無料イベントです。昨年は45,000人を越える人が集いました。このFestivalは100％ボランティアの協力により成り立っています。

演題：　「東京大空襲を語る」

講師：　早乙女勝元氏:　作家、東京大空襲・戦災資料センター館長。
　　　　　二瓶治代さん：　東京大空襲戦災資料センター・ボランティア

第二次大戦中に東京は米軍により実に１０６回の空襲爆撃を受けました。　この破壊と死傷者の惨禍の規模は広島、長崎の原爆に劣らないものです。特に1945年（S２０年）３月１０日深夜にB-29爆撃隊300数機により始まった東京下町一帯の人口密集地を敢えて目標にした大空襲は一夜で死者約10万人、被災者約100万人、　犠牲者の大半が非戦闘員の一般市民で、特に若い男子はほとんどが既に兵役で戦地に出ている中、死者の大半は女性、子供、老人でした。　赤ちゃんを背中や胸に抱いたまま無残に黒こげに炭化した死体写真が沢山残っています。

国際法違反と解釈されるこの無差別爆撃の実体を生き残り体験者が東京の戦災資料センターで平和を願い語り継ぎ歴史を継承しています。　今回そのお二人から実体験のお話を聞き歴史継承に参加したいと考えます。　ご参加をお待ちします。　（私も幼児でしたが生き残った一人です。）

講師紹介：　

１．早乙女勝元氏：　1932年3月26日、東京生まれ。12歳で東京大空襲を体験。戦後は働きながら文学を志ざし、18歳で執筆した『下町の故郷が』直木賞候補に推される。『ハモニカ工場』発表後は作家に専念『美しい橋』、『秘密』など発表。映画化も多く「青春作家」と称される。ルポルタージュ『東京大空襲』がベストセラーに。（日本ジャーナリスト会議奨励賞）。1970年に「東京空襲を記録する会」を結成、『東京大空襲・戦災誌』が菊池寛賞を受賞。

1991年千葉大学の非常勤講師。1992年映画『戦争と青春』（今井正監督、工藤夕貴主演）の原作・脚本を担当、日本アカデミー賞特別賞受賞。2002年ドキュメンタリー映画『軍隊をすてた国』（山本洋子監督）を企画・製作。2002年に江東区北砂の「東京大空襲・戦災資料センター」の館長就任。庶民の生活における愛を書きつづける下町の作家として、また東京大空襲の語り部として、未来を担う世代に平和を訴え続ける。

《おもな作品》『東京大空襲』（岩波新書）、『東京が燃えた日』（岩波ジュニア新書）ほか多数、１３０冊を越える。

２．二瓶治代さん：　１９４５年３月１０日東京大空襲（初日）当時、国民学校（小学校）２年生で８歳。炎の海の中を家族と共に逃げ惑い助かる。その時の辛く悲しい体験だが、東京大空襲戦災資料センターが出来て以来、訪れる修学旅行の学生など多くの人々にその体験を語っている。　現在７３歳。

＜過去は未来のために　語りつぐ平和への思い＞

1945年3月10日、米軍機B29による無差別爆撃で東京は一夜にして10万人もの生命が奪われた。私は12歳。一命はとりとめたものの多くの友人を失った。その戦禍を風化させることなく後世に語りついでいきたいと思う。　　「知っているなら伝えよう。知らないなら学ぼう」と訴えてきた。　　今なぜ過去の戦禍を、民間人の立場で知らなければならないのか。それは単に歴史を後ずさりする行為ではない。過去につながる現在から未来を、より人間らしく平和でありたいからである。
