  • Always proof read and check for any errors in your contact information as your name, address, and phone number.
  • When you are applying for a specific job position, make sure to include an Objective section. On the other hand, when you are not applying for a specific position, leave your Objective section broad so that it will be applicable to numerous job positions.
  • If you do not possess prior work experience, always include an Education section. This section includes the name of the school, school location, and the major studied. Furthermore, including your GPA score can be a method to appeal your academic achievement.
  • The Work Experience section follows the Education Section. This section includes previous employment's company name, job position, and dates of employment. Previous employment is presented in the order of most recent first to the oldest last. Also, include previous employment's specific job tasks, duties, and responsibilities as a method to attract potential employees' interest.
  • In the Skill section, include computer skills, languages spoken, and acquired licenses.
  • When your resume appears to be sparse in information due to lack of work experience and does not look presentable to the eye, you may compensate it by including information as your interests, hobbies, and volunteer work.
  • Indication of age and sex is commonly not required.
  • Be sure to create a resume that is only one page in length.
  • Avoid utilizing fancy stationary, color font, or attaching pictures and/or drawing to your resume.
